Smart locks are easy to compare by feature lists.
Fingerprint, PIN, card, app, face recognition, camera, video intercom, palm vein, larger screens...
On paper, more functions can easily look like a better product.
But every added function may also bring higher cost, more power demand, additional setup and more after-sales support.
So instead of asking only “How many functions does this lock have?”, it is worth asking:
“Does this function earn its place in the product?”
Different smart locks are built for different roles, so they do not need the same feature set.
The goal is not fewer functions. It is making sure the functions make sense for the product.
